Day (6) Strava Segment Title:  eL Torrito - 1Seg A Day Challenge - TW.Sprint6 Day 6:  It's now day 6 of the event, and I have some of you asking to do uphill segments. Now I guess you get what you ask for and be grateful for this one due to the fact I did this in 105-degree Las Vegas Heat!!! Also, I pushed hard to do well on this segment. It will be tough for others to beat and be a segment for a long time on Strava. Let's look and see the segment for Day 6!   Content from our affiliates:

Day (5) ~ One Segment a Day eL Torrito Strava Challenge

One Segment a Day eL Torrito Strava Challenge – by: Torrey Hash Day #5 – 15 Day (1) segment per day challenge. Day (5) Strava Segment Title:  eL Torrito - 1Seg A Day Challenge - TW.Sprint5 Day 5:  It's day 5! We have only 10 more segments to go after today! This has been fun generating these segment challenges and getting feedback. I have my son currently playing for the Little League All Star team here in Nevada, and they are about to take the State Championship and go on to Regional. I am praying that they do due t it being a once in a lifetime opportunity for him and myself as a father to experience. You can track their progress @  https://www.mrll.org/   Today I passed my usual morning group on my ride. I promised to do a ride with them next Friday, but that is if My son's All-Star Team does not make it to the National tournaments, because I will be in San Jose, CA for the games. This morning group are an amazing group of individuals that have been a huge influence in why I

Day (4) Strava Segment Title:  eL Torrito - 1Seg A Day Challenge - TW.Sprint4 Day 4:  So, we have made it to day 4! I was so sleepy this morning. I couldn’t rest my weary mind and body at all last night. Therefore; I decided that I would do a segment that was safe and easy downhill.  We received more e-mails, and there are requests to tell you a bit more about myself. I live in Las Vegas, NV and love to cycle, hike, surf, skate, not much of a runner but I will run every now and then. I will also be looking into swimming soon as well. While riding in the high heat of Las Vegas, NV I like to prep for these high heat rides using Nunn hydration sports tablets. You can go to my afternoon activities and see how high the temp gets. I will usually post a photo of anything done in high wind or high heat. Let's look at Day 4's Challenge segment...   Content from our affiliates:

Day (3) ~ One Segment a Day eL Torrito Strava Challenge

One Segment a Day eL Torrito Strava Challenge – by: Torrey Hash Day #3 – 15 Day (1) segment per day challenge. Day (3) Strava Segment Title:  eL Torrito - 1Seg A Day Challenge - TW.Sprint3 Day 3:  O kay, we are starting to have some feedback here.   I am getting e-mails with questions about what this challenge is. I know it is Day 3 already, but I will explain exactly what I am setting out to do here. I have a commute I do each day. I am creating a new segment each day. This will be a different segment for each day for 15 days. That is the challenge. They will be around 10-mile sprint segments.  The challenge or the reason it is a challenge is because they will be tough to beat. Due to traffic, wind and other scenarios that I come across each day. This was more of a personal project I wanted to do for a while but turned into something I wanted to share with others. To see if I could influence others to beat these challenge segments created on Strava. Day 3 was tough. I feel like my leg

Day (2) ~ One Segment a Day eL Torrito Strava Challenge

One Segment a Day eL Torrito Strava Challenge – by: Torrey Hash Day #2 – 15 Day (1) segment per day challenge. Day (2)  Strava Segment Title:  eL Torrito - 1Seg A Day Challenge - TW.Sprint 2.0 Day 2 : Today started out feeling like I didn’t have adequate recovery time. I felt rested but my legs were a bit weak. It may have had something to do with my meal the night before as well. I didn’t eat prior to heading out the door. Just some water to start out. I will need to focus on diet if I am going to learn anything from this 1 seg challenge. Although, this is a segment challenge so I don’t think I will be tracking diet. I can save that for the next blog or when we look to improving these segment times? As always, suggestions and comments are welcome. Day (2) Strava Results:   CHECK OUT BIKES ONLINE! Day (1) ~One Segment a Day eL Torrito Strava Challenge

One Segment a Day eL Torrito Strava Challenge – by: Torrey Hash Day #1 – 15 Day (1) segment per day challenge. Day (1)  Strava Segment Title:  eL Torrito - 1Seg A Day Challenge - TW.Sprint1 Day 1 : Day one started out as a normal routine route for me, but when I was about 0.2miles into the route, I had a random thought to change it up. I thought to myself, if I am to really do a new segment to and from work each day, then I will need to be creative in how I develop a new segment each day. Not just to work, but from work as well. These segments can't be the same. This idea and challenge are to research which route I would be most efficient on. Now of course we will need to take account for obstacles, such as; traffic lights, stop signs, and even the wind for that day. The general idea though, is to find out which segment route can shave off a few minutes of time each day. It will also be a way to track my segments and compare the data I collect off each individual segment. I will th
