One Segment a Day eL Torrito Strava Challenge – by: Torrey Hash
Day #1 – 15 Day (1) segment per day challenge.

Day (1) 

Strava Segment Title: eL Torrito - 1Seg A Day Challenge - TW.Sprint1

Day 1: Day one started out as a normal routine route for me, but when I was about 0.2miles into the route, I had a random thought to change it up. I thought to myself, if I am to really do a new segment to and from work each day, then I will need to be creative in how I develop a new segment each day. Not just to work, but from work as well.

These segments can't be the same. This idea and challenge are to research which route I would be most efficient on. Now of course we will need to take account for obstacles, such as; traffic lights, stop signs, and even the wind for that day.

The general idea though, is to find out which segment route can shave off a few minutes of time each day. It will also be a way to track my segments and compare the data I collect off each individual segment. I will then take the date and determine best segment to take and try to beat or improve. Any suggestions or comments about what ideas may come to mind are welcome here too. This is more of a personal development project than a Strava segment challenge.

Day 1 - The commute back was much more challenging. I also had 10-15 mph winds to deal with. The weather said it was gusts up to 25 mph so I figured 10-15 mph cross wind is a good estimate. It was very hot too. Temperature around 105F

Time for some much needed recovery!
